College Male Valentines Gift Idea?

I was recently playing with my boyfriends Iphone when I came across a note he had written, reminding himself to get a photograph that I absolutely adore made into a poster. Now that I know he's really putting a lot of effort into my gift, I want to make him something really special. (I could buy something too, but sometimes making a gift is more exciting to receive)

I have no idea where to begin! He really likes music; some of his favorite bands are Modest Mouse, Animal Collective and Sufjan Stevens. He's also very into photography, film, art, and he's majoring in philosophy. I'm normally very creative, but I'm having a hard time coming up with anything.

Any ideas at all?

Thanks

Here is an idea going off of the music interest. My ex-boyfriend used to do this for me for every birthday or holiday and it became something special that I really looked forward to. Make him a cd. I know it sounds real lame and generic but you can be really creative with it. You have some options. Create a cd with his favorite songs, or find a bunch of new artists that he hasn't heard of but that you think he might like. Or, as my ex did, make a funny cd filled with memories and inside jokes. Put songs on there that mean something to the both of you...they can be serious but its more fun if its funny. For example, my ex and I had an inside joke about the Geico Caveman commercials and on one of my cd's was the theme music you always hear in the background of the commercials. It takes some time to think of all your little jokes and figure out how to get them on a cd but its well worth it. Sign up for ITunes or a torrent to find the music. He will have a great time going through the cd and trying to remember what each track is referencing. I used to love popping in my newest cd and jumping from track to track listening for the joke. And it's great in the future to go back and listen to remind yourself of old times! Hope this makes sense!

My roommate and her friends came up with an idea of buying their men boxers, but turning the boxers into flowers and attaching it to a stem (that you get from Michaels) and wrap it with a bow so the boxers stay attached to the stem

    It was cute. Good luck

Make a day of it! Take him to a museum, then to an indie film show, then top it off by taking him to a concert! My wife knows how much I love football, so she already got me tickets to the Texans draft party!
