I keep reading on this R&S site that we are all God's children.?

If this is true why would Jesus say the following?

John 8:41-45

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

It's simple: NOT ALL people are God's children. ONLY those who are saved by Jesus Christ are God's people. The notion or idea that all people are God's children is false. It stems from the Roman Catholic religion that claims that, if you do 'good works' and give to the poor, etc., then you'll 'earn' God's favor, but that's NOT what God says. If people opened up the bible and read what God says about how to get to heaven and who God's people REALLY are, they'd know that the belief that all people belong to God is not true. Those verses you listed are proof that God's people are ONLY those who are born again and know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior - pure and simple.

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

You are taking this verse out of context. Though all these verses are true, they don't say that we aren't children of God. 1 John 3:1 says, "How great is the love of the Father that He lavished on us , that we

should be called the children of God. And that is what we are the reason that the world soes not know us, is that they do not know Him."

Before we are His Children the Bible also says that we are Children od the devil, since we were born into sin. Sin reflects the devils inmost being. You need to read you Bible!

Everyone is not a child of God. Some are children of the devil. God chose before the foundation of the world those who would belong to Him.

He that committeth sin(i.e. deliberately sins) is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin(i.e. deliberately sin); for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin(deliberately sin), because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

    1 John 3:8-10

you can not serve two masters.

one must understand the context in which this was said. taking this bit and that bit and putting it together makes it all none sense.

this was a jab at people that did not follow moral codes and values - nothing more. he was using tough love to make a point.
