Industrial piercing question...Please help out! (10 pts)?
I have already asked one question about the industrial piercing and only got three replies because it was under other skin and body so I figured I would attempt putting it in the tattoo section!
Anyways, I have researched most all there is to research about the industrial piercing because when I get a piercing that I am really into I want to know all the safety precautions and everything. The one thing that is not clear to me is what I need to do to prepare for the pain of the piercing. Any advice for after I get it?
Thank you for taking your time to answer and any advice about the piercing would be greatly appreciated! :)

I'm glad to hear you've done your research. Not many people do that, so it's great to see.
To prepare:
eat about an hour before you go for your piercing. complex carbs and protein. this will help level out your blood sugar and help stop you from feeling light headed.
Try to relax. It's going to hurt a lot more in your imagination than in real life.
Your piercer will help you through the process. I do a simple breathing exercise with my clients. It helps them focus on something other than the needle in my hand.
Only bring friends who are supportive. Leave the ones who say "it's going to hurt so much" at home.
Good luck!

When getting pierced, your body kinda goes through a little trauma and you can sometimes feel a bit weak or dizzy headed. So, when you're going to get pierced make sure you've eaten a good meal or two and drank plenty of water that day. Sugar in an energy drink is just going to make you crash...water is always best.
Ask your piercer any questions you have. He/she is there to help you and do a professional job at piercing.

Your worrying about something that there's no reason to worry over. The best thing you can do to prepare yourself about safety precautions and learning is by asking your piercer. I always have my piercer explain to me what he is going to do so i know and can prepare my self. I don't like surprises so I like to be told. The pain of an industrial is not bad. I have one myself and was one of the least painful piercings i have. Do not freak yourself out you will do just fine. Talk to your piercer though.

I didn't do anything.
I went, Got it done, And left. I think if someone needs to take pain relievers to get a piercing like an industrial, They shouldn't even bother getting it.
It really doesn't hurt as much as a lot of people say it does. And I've got a medium pain tolerance.

Industrials don't hurt any more than any other ear piercing. A couple of quick pokes and it's over. The best advice I can give you is don't get it on the side that you do everything (sleep, talk on the phone....ect).

Okay.
I got mine in October 2008, and I was so nervous, my heart was like beating so bad my head was throbbing, he got the needle, and put it to my ear, and I could feel how sharp it was just sitting on my ear, then he counted, "One, Two," and pushed the needle through, my ear basically went numb, and then he said he was about to go through the other hole, he did, and it was a tiny pinch-sting.
It's not at all painful, it's more of a pressure, it feels like getting flicked in the arm, it hurts for 1 second then eases away.
Happy Piercing ;]

They will probably pierce while you exhale through your mouth. So just remember to breathe!
I can't say mine didn't hurt because there was definitely 10 or so seconds of intensity as the needle wouldn't go all the way through the cartilage easily. It is bearable though!

Theres nothing you can do to be prepared for the pain. Just relax, eat a good meal and you will be just fine.

don't even worry and get all worked up about it because it's not even worth it, i have had mine for about 6 years, it hurts, but i you should be able to handle it, if you really want it then it will be worth it anyway. for after care your piercer will tell you all about what needs to be done and if you have any questions about it, ask him/her. just don't get all worked up and have fun, good luckk!=]
