is there any way of getting combat training like you get in the army without joining the army?
i dont want to join the army because im going 2 uni but i would like to do some kind of physical training just to improve fitness and learn the fight, i think it would be fun.

Try looking for a Krav Maga instructor in your area its an Israeli Military Martial Art. Its the best there is in Military terms in my opinion. Read up on it on wikipedia.

lol, No. And btw, there is this element called the army recruiting information superhighway web site, durr. Edit: Bighead is punctiliously incorrect. you will no longer be able to connect different than you have a HS degree or GED. And with a GED you decide on a minimum of 15 college credit.

You can , but it will cost you. There are "camps" you can go to for Military type adventure vacations. I forget the name of the place, but it is in Arizona and you can usually find ads for it in the back of Mens Journal magazine. You can even go to Russia and fly jet fighters if you have the cash.

Consider talking to a company that trains civilian law enforcement or companies like Blackwater. They'll most likely train you but you will have to pay for it unlike with the military who will give it to you for free.

I tried Lazerzone at Falkirk..got banned for using human shields, butt clubbing and see-round corner shooting mirrors. They woudn't even let me on the paintball with my home made clothes piercin' dum-dum BB pellets and the miniature hand crossbow was a deff no-no..I argued with them that future UK soldiers need training in unorthodox irregular guerilla warfare..to no avail..

I agree with Krav Maga. MMA only teaches you hand to hand combat standing and ground. Krav Maga is more combat oriented because it will teach you how to disarm people when the opportunity arises, how to use weapons of opportunities, in addition to hand to hand combat.

you cant learn "combat training" at a school outside of the military. combat training consists of multiple schools. if you are talking about a form of hand to hand training, your best bet is to train mma. thats pretty much what we do now in all of our special ops units. but not limited to

well im sure they got regular bootcamps that you can go to but you would have to pay money to go but you also can also try to learn MMA and just train

AQ has paramilitary camps. Sometimes disillusioned Western college students attend them. Sometimes it ends badly for them. Good luck!
