what is 40% of 11212?

i know you multiply 11212 by .040 ....... right?

i got 448.48 but which way do i need to move the decimal?

im trying to figure out miles for my taxes and i think that i have been sitting at this computer for way too long...i should know this answer but thank you so much for yours!!

    Incorrect, toloveastephanie. You multiply it by .400, not .040. .040 is 4%. Assuming you calculated 4%, the decimal point is one off to the left.

    11,212 × 40% = 4484.8

    11212 x 40/100=4484.8 as simple as this.

    you would now take away 448.48 from 11212 and that would give you the amout of 40% of 11212

    answer is 4484.8 this is also written without decimal is 44848*10^-1

    you need to multiply by .4 not .04

    4484.8
