Why is my Viper alarm acting this way? I can't start my car!?

So I have an older Viper alarm on my car and I'm having trouble getting into my vehicle. (Squared two button remote)The remote lights up when depressed and the red light on my car is lit, but nothing happens. The doors remain locked and to make things even more awesome, my buddy was doing something on my vehicle and accidentally pulled the valet switch off entirely. Pretty cool, huh? So I'm slightly screwed. What can I do to drive my car?

Update:

I do have the key. When I unlock and open the alarm goes off. I honestly have not tried to start it only because I know the alarm disables the engine.

I know this isn't a long term fix, but I was thinking of disconnecting the battery and seeing if that resets the alarm or something. Does that sound absurd?

find the wires to the valet switch and touch the ends together while you put it in valet mode. Leave it in valet mode, the alarm is junk now(they go bad after awhile).

Your next choice is to follow all the wires of the alarm and disconnect them (just disconnecting the power wire will only stop the car from starting at all.) While doing this its very likely you will find two or four thick wires connected to your starter wires disconnect the alarm wires and re-connect the originals by color. and you should be back in business.

    Or

Have an alarm installer come out and replace the alarm with a newer one.

Email me if you have more questions.

Disconnecting/reconnecting the battery will only force the alarm to go into theft mode.

sounds like you have put the system into "valet mode". Because the valet button is broken, try this:

    1. open the drivers door

    2. push button 1 then 2 then 1 (no more than 1 sec between buttons)

What worries me is that the door locks are not working. They should work even in valet mode. But the LED light will stay on in Valet mode. hmmmmmmm

You said you cannot drive your car. Is the alarm going off? Will the car start? Do you have the key that will unlock your doors?

TIME isn't a query. Miles pushed is. Toyota recommends 5,000 mile oil replace periods for that express automobile. A relied on private mechanic or the Toyota dealership will do a *battery load attempt to work out what the reserve amperage ability is. they are going to additionally attempt the alternator charging voltage with a volt meter linked to the battery with the engine working. 13.5 -14.2 is the traditional charging voltage. we don't look after any battery that the cells would be unable to be opened to ascertain the distilled water point. Your Grandmothers battery is an exceedingly intense priced SEALED battery. It should not be re-charged over a 2 amp placing, on an automated self leveling battery charger. final yet no longer least her fancy battery might have a "parasitic" amp draw loss while the automobile isn't getting used. The Toyota Dealership or a "sharp" private mechanic will ought to ascertain a voltage draw at every person of her fuses to benefit the place the battery voltage is going while the automobile isn't in use. playstation . An AC-Delco Platinum expert battery has a 50 month loose alternative guarantee and you may consistently verify the distilled water point! No contest here.

if you can find the power wire for the alarm itself, you should be able to cut that and it should end all control which viper has placed over your car. You can call some installer as well, they'd probably be able to walk you through it pretty quick. I've done this with other alarms, but not vipers specifically, and some have redundant connections in case some crafty thief were to do such a thing which completely disables your car.

here's what you do open the door (alarm is on) pop open the hood and disconnect the battery, once the battery is disconnected, just look underneath the steering wheel and look for the alarm brain it should be a black box with viper logo on it. just disconnect it. than put back the battery and you'll be fine. just go to the near audio shop and see if they could find the problem. i think your remote just need to be paired up with that alarm brain again.
