which is worse c section or vaginal delivery?
ok i understand that there can be a bad vaginal delivery and everything but i think a c section is way worse since i had one a week ago and the pain is still horrible and it cuts my time away from my baby and everything. So this yahoo user posted a question about wanting a c section and i gave my opinion and she didn't like it.
So what do you think is worse?
thats what i was trying to tell this girl on a question she ask but she think it will be easier so she will see when she has it.
my c section was a week ago and im still in pain.

i had a c-section i posted my opinion to... some women just have to find out on there own.. they're not going to listen till they've had the pain.. my c-section was a night mare! after all of it it got infected! talk about horrible! i'm hoping for a V-bac with this one!i hate when women think c-sections are easier... seriously its major surgery... and having to take care of a new born.. its so hard! i had problems sleeping in a bed.. i had to sleep in my living room on a couch cause i couldn't get up properly. sleeping sitting up for the first week home sucked big time! i could imagine doing it with another kid!

I believe a c-section to be worse eg: healing time takes a lot longer. I've never had a c-section but i have had 5 natural vaginal births and due in a week and a half. I think one of my biggest fears is a c-section lolz because i dont knw how i'd go trying to look after a newborn as well as 5 other children with a cut in my belly!!!

C-Section is probably worse than a vaginal birth. I had one 16 months ago and took me 3-4weeks to fully recover. I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant and I get these sharp pains in my incision area once in a while. I can only assume it's due to the c-section since I did not have these pains in my first pregnancy.
My doctor has approved a VBAC and hoping that I will be successful. I'd hate to go through another c-section.

I have only had a necessary c-section, so I can't tell you what a vaginally delivery is like. But I saw my sister right after two of her four vaginally deliveries (with stitches) and she was doing thing just hours after ward that I could not image doing even two weeks after my c-section. She seemed to be in far less pain than I was. I was in agony the first day. I was on morphine and that did little for my pain at first. And then walking (though I know necessary) was torture.
I just don't understand these people that think c-sections are easy. At least with me- it wasn't easy. It wasn't the easy way out at all. And now I am faced with another one in March and I am not looking forward to it at all.

C section is worse. They take longer to recover from. I mean doctors prescribe major pain killers for mothers who have had c-sections and not the ones who have had vaginal births.

The pain of a c-section last about 2 weeks if I remember correctly when I had my daughter. I'm having a c-section on Monday so I'm expecting about the same. The only thing is when my husband came home from deployment 9 months after our daughter was born, it hurt to have sex. Just figured I'd give you a heads up.

I don't think either is "worse"- I think each experience is different. C-secs are scary. Vaginal births are a lot of work. My vaginal birth turned scary due to complications that could have been life threatening. I had a hard time sitting and was bruised down below for awhile because I'm small and baby's head was "big"- for me (even though he was born 7 weeks early).
I think that you're having a baby, not an elective procedure. I might tell you I think vaginally is "worse" because of my experience- but I also know it's healthier for baby (in lots of cases)- but then again, a C-sec is "healther" for baby (which is why they ever came about- for medical reasons).
I think both can be very scary, and both have thier joys to them as well, as a baby is born.

I had a c section in September and still have some pain. My incision is also still red and puffy, though not infected. So I vote c section is worse.
Source(s): C section survivor... double footling breech baby that couldn't be turned due to size of head.
