Anyone out there that does agility trials, I'm looking for?

a new tent for trials. My last one, pop up canopy, blew away. I've lost several over the last few years. Does anyone use a screen house? I've heard they can be a little hotter inside. I'm looking for something that may hold a bit better in the wind, than a pop up. They tend to stake to the ground more like a tent, so I'm thinking that may be a better route to go. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Getting ready for those spring trials....

Update:

I travel with a friend, and we usually have about 6 dogs with us. 4 small dogs, and her two larger shelties.

Hmmm....I thought I had an easy answer to your problem until I got to the part about 6 dogs....okay, here's my take:

    1. Instead of getting a popup of any kind, get something that extends out of your vehicle like an awning or canopy--but something that attaches to the vehicle. It can't blow away because it will be attached to your vehicle. Not good for camping (if you're one of those hardy souls who spends the night sometimes at the trial site) but it will block the sun, allow sun, go up quickly and be relatively inexpensive.

    2. Resist any form of popup cover option--they're basically sails that catch the wind. You want a tent with a "bathtub" floor (meaning the bottom flooring or tarp is built into the tent walls). The reason you want this is: if you put stuff inside the tent (like a cooler, a chair or two, some crates) then they help hold the tent down--the tent can't blow away unless the wind is strong enough to also blow away a cooler, crates and whatnot--in which case you've got bigger worries than just losing a tent--I think you're in gale force winds!).

There are plenty of tents that go up quickly that do what I just indicated. The downside is that popups are more popular for stuff like tailgating (because you don't have to worry about people ducking into the tent or walking all over the bathtub floor and puncturing it. But if you're not looking for a tent with significant insulation properties, it doesn't have to cost you more than many of the more popular popup covers out there.

    3. I've not been impressed with most of the screen houses I've seen. They're designed for enclosed backyards that don't get much wind. They can get hot but primarily if there's not much breeze.

Overall summary--resist anything that's designed for tailgating, some shade in the backyard or a little coverage during the kid's 1 hour soccer match. You need a cheap camping option (either the car-attached canopy for the people who sleep in back of their SUV/minivan or a tent with an attached floor).
