The republicans here on Y/A are extremely jealous so they'll never believe that Obama is very popular.
By the way the CNN polls are the MOST accurate. The final CNN election poll actually showed a 53-46 outcome...

After that great press conference he gave tonight I heard it was back up to 76 percent. The Republican congress on the other hand has dismally low ratings, even after they worked so hard to make him look bad. The people see right through it. The rating will go up and down...we have to have patience. It is not fair for people to judge him so quickly. So far it hasn't dipped below sixty percent which is phenomenal. We should be proud to have such an intelligent president who is clearly trying hard to do the right thing and has integrity.

Because it's not 76%, and he's lost about 15% approval over the past 3 weeks. That's a pretty significant decline..
But given how badly he's performed, it's not unexpected.

Better look where the poll is coming from. Also what demographics and what poll data was collected. I am a believer in you can make numbers say anything you want them to say. Need to see what question was asked for this poll and what phrasing was used. It is proven one can drastically change outcomes of data when wording is used. Not saying that it was done this time just info to think about.

FOX does a poll of its viewers and most of them, surprisingly, don't like Obama. 8^)
Actually Obama's ratings at this point have no relevance. He hasn't actually done much. Give him a year two before his job performance can really be assessed.
It's kind of unfortunate that the Republican strategy is to just say anything negative about Obama. They -are- the opposition, and it's their job to tell the other side of the story. But they make up so many lies about him, just as they did with Clinton, that when he -does- do something outrageous, nobody will believe them. The 'say anything negative' strategy is not working for them with Obama as well as it did with Clinton and Carter.

It was higher at one point. The stimulus package is a rough road. Some people see it as excessive while others think it's just poorly allocated. Presidents are heavily criticized in their first 100 days.

Rasmussan had him at 59% yesterday, and Gallup had him at about 64%. He's been on a steady decline in the Rasmussan for the past week, in part because of the unpopularity of the pork package he's proposing. (CNN polls aren't too reliable.)

Not according to Real Clear Politics... :/ which apparently CNN is the ONLY one that is polling that high... :/ His lowest is 61 via Rassmussan... :/

Why don't you look at the current approval ratings?
Obama's Campaign promises are being broken everyday for instance, he is unable to bring both Houses and Party's together. Obama is failing to live up to himself. The honeymoon is over and people are having buyers remorse.
The Gallup Polls report his ratings right now are 66%.

depends on who and how you ask. according to my pole he has a o% approval rating.
of the 12 people i just asked NONE said they approved of the way he is handling the country.
