Cannon Powershot SX110 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ5?

I am replacing my old 4 megapix Kodak. I'm a very casual user, but enjoy photography and hope to get a little more into it. I'd like something simple, but want high megapix and zoom. I don't even want to get into SLR's.

Obviously, the powershot fits my budget best, but I also liked the DMC Panasonic TX5. Really stretching it would be the FZ28. I'm only picking these cameras based on Consumer Reports (not that they know anything) and images I've seen taken.

Here's a comparison of the three...

Thanks.

Update:

Sarah V,

Noise meaning, when you blow up the pictures, not camera noise right? I'm a new with photography and just looking for a decent lower cost super zoom.

I was looking at almost exactly the same 2 cameras last year (the sx100 or the tx5). I chose the canon because I am a Canon girl - I have 2 canon dslr's and have previously had 1 canon digicam and 2 35 mms. Having established that I love Canon and still trust them - I have been disapointed with the SX100. I have bad noise issues which have rendered most of my pics from this camera useless. Do the research - google these cameras and read all the reviews you can.... because for all I know, Canon could have fixed the problem I have had before releasing this new camera (Sx110).

I don't know about the SX110, but I have a Canon A250 that's been through Hell (100% humidity for extended periods of time, being dropped in the mud, taken to high altitudes, dropped on the pavement dozens of times) and back and still works great.

    Here's a shot:

This digital camera works o.k..sturdy for vacationing and it rather is been great. Takes sturdy close-up, action, and zoom-in pictures. the pictures are very sparkling, and the battery has sturdy life. yet there's a extra present day style of this merchandise.(ZS3)
