    1. the x intercept occurs when y=0. So plug in 0 for the y and you get

    2x=10, x=5

    so (5,0)

    2. the y intercept occurs when x = 0, plug in 0 for the x and calculate y

    3. if x is constant and y is variable, the line will match the y axis, which is vertical

    5. slope = (x2-x1)/(y2-y1) = (2-3)/(1-4)

    6. slope = (x2-x1)/(y2-y1) = (0-2)/(-4-5)

    The x-intercept is when the line meets at the x-axis. In this case, "y" will equal 0. Therefore to find the x-intercept, the coordinate has to be (x,0). So from here, you can already eliminate a. and d.

    Now that you are left with two answers, you must solve the "x" in order to choose the right answer.

    2x + 5(0) = 10

    2x + 0 = 10

    2x = 10

    x = 5

    Therefore the answer is b. (5,0)

    2. The y-intercept is when the line meets at the y-axis. In this case, "x" will equal 0. Therefore to find the y-intercept, the coordinate has to be (0,y). So from here, you can eliminate b. and c.

    Now that you are left with two answers, you must solve for "y" in order to choose the correct answer.

    2x + 5y = 10

    2(0) + 5y = 10

    0 + 5y = 10

    5y = 10

    y = 2

    Therefore the answer is a. (0,2)

    3. Whenever you have x = a constant or y = a constant, you will also have a horizontal or vertical line. Whenever x = a constant, it will always be a vertical line. Whenever y = a constant, it will always be a horizontal line. So the answer for 3 is b.

    5. To find the slope of the line, you need to know the formula, rise over run. Rise basically means the change in y direction and run basically means the change in x direction. It does not matter which coordinates you want to use as the initial point, but I will start the highest one though. And you also must go according to the coordinates as well.

    So

    slope = change in y/change in x

    slope = (4 - 1) / (3 - 2)

    slope = 3/1

    slope = 3

    Well, it seems that your choices of answers are not correct.

    6. The same rule applied as in question 5. This time, I will show the rule that I gave you, meaning to go according to the coordinates.

    slope = change in y / change in x

    slope = (-4 - 5)/(0 -2) (Note: it does not matter which x or y in each coordinate is bigger that goes first in the subtraction. Follow the coordinate.)

    slope = -9/-2

    slope = 9/2

    Therefore the answer is a.
