Counter Tops? New or cover?
Me and my husband want a new or different colored counter top. We don't want to do a TON of work someone told me about counter top that sits on top of the old counter anyone know where to get it or a online store I could look for it on or even what it is really called.
No there is such thing my moms best friend works in construction and has installed them I have seen them I just dont know what they are called or where to get them. Its going to be at least a week or two before we get a chance to see or talk to her again and I am a very impatient person.

Some of the companies that do granite counter tops install a thin layer of granite over your existing counter tops, but my brother is in construction (has been specializing in kitchens for more than 30 years) and he doesn't recommend those "cheap" counter tops. It's best to tear off all old counter top and start fresh. It's not really that much more expensive and the little bit of extra work is well worth the investment.

P-Lam, or Plastic Laminate, is what you are probably referring to.
However, just as a recommendation, I would not try to apply it - it really should be pressure applied to wood, not just slapped and glued in place. It would be the equivalent trying to paint your car with a roller - sure you can do it, but it's going to look funky when you're done.
That being said, removing a counter top is actually easier that most realize, and I would seriously consider it before attempting to resurface your counter top.
If P-Lam is not what you're referring to, please take a moment and drop me a line to what product you are referring to, as I'm always interested in new construction products.
