When your cold you shiver, this creates friction and warms your body. when your warm you sweat, which cools the body. what do tears do? Are they pointless?

They keep your eyes moist so they do not dry out. They also wash away dust and irritants, including microbes that would cause in infection if they stayed on your eyes.

tears are cleaning out things in your eyes activated by overactive emotions.

tears have two functions
1. they moisturize your eyes
2. they wash impurities from your eyes (dust/eyelashes/etc.)
