Just wondering which is better for burning movies and what

the -R and +R mean..

    They use slightly different tracking, speed control, and error correction schemes from one another, but are not noticeably different to most users. The "+R" media came out later than the "-R", so some older DVD players have more difficulty reading the newer "+R" disks. The "+R" disks have a few technical advantages, so it depends on you situation: If you can burn and read the "+R" media, then use that. If you have trouble (or want to burn a DVD that is the most likely to be readable on an unknown friend's machine), then use "-R".

    I have to use "-R" on account of my older DVD player. But if I get a new one, I'll probably switch to "+R".
