    London is such an interesting place to live;

though it can have it's downsides.

I would say definatly (as you said) try for Westminster. It's alot nicer than the suburban parts of London and the greater South and South Eastern parts. There is too much crime for everyones liking around there. In central London you will find some fantastic places to visit.

    Obviously your normal tourist attractions:

    London Dungeons

    Madame Tussaudes

    The London Eye

    The London Aquarium

    Theatre's

    The o2

And i suppose places like Thorpe Park, Chessington World Of Adventures, Warwick Castle; All of which are just outside of London and would take roughly a 30-40 minute, easy journey on the train.

I have looked at previous answers to this question and one or two people have said it is quite expensive here in London.

They are certainly correct if it is a property you are looking for, extremley expensive at the moment with the recession; but not all things are expensive.

Your weekly shop shouldnt cost you an arm and a leg if you shop in somewhere like Tesco's or Sainsbury's, which there are plenty of in London.

Eating out is what you would expect to pay in most places, and most of the restraunts you visit will serve the food you like, at a reasonable price.

Travel is the only other thing that i would say the government need to cut the price on, it is quite expensive to get from place to place, but if you make sure you get yourself an Oyster Card (which are electronic tickets,) you will definatly notice the change in price.

All i can say is that if you do choose to live in London then you will have one of the most interesting experiences ever.

You can be sure you will find anything and everything there is to do in the wonderful city.

    Hope this answers your question.

London is always interesting. It has its ugly bits, but there are so many great features of the city that outweigh the bad stuff. The history is great, also culture, range of entertainment...

Make sure you do your research. If you want to buy a decent 2 bed flat in Westminster it will cost you at least £250,000. But its a buyers market. Also the job situation is not doing well.

I am not sure I would call it a "lovely"place but its interesting. It depends on where you live as there are some pretty crummy areas. I was happy not to live in London when I lived in the UK...just out of London and didn't come into town that much but there was lots happening. I would rate other cities are prettier, with as much history, BUT its english speaking and thats an advantage. It also expensive.

hi! Surrey is an remarkable place to stay. Surbiton, Kingston and Guildford are great - yet quite costly. It relies upon how lots funds you will desire to throw around :-) I used to stay in Woking, that's purely 20mins faraway from Waterloo on the particular practice. From Waterloo you could circulate everywhere! Woking is extra low-value than Guildford, yet there is a few very extreme high quality factors of it. it is up-and-coming as a commuter city and many new residences are being outfitted. additionally take a glance on the encircling factors like Knaphill, Brookwood and West Byfleet. they're an extra 10 minutes on the practice, yet you get lots extra on you funds! (I stay in Knaphill now). desire this facilitates and robust luck with the circulate! :-) ox Emmie

It is the centre of Europe, everything you can think of is available, and to get to another country - simple and cheap. One problem though, they are not very found of foreigners anymore.
