The matches are not move by move scripted, the commentators have to keep up with the match. There is always unknown factors that can happen on stage, and the commentators have to be able to follow that. There are mistakes made here and there, but these guys do this for a living, when a punch is thrown, they react, when someone runs at them they react, the ref is often the one to help them out, especially with timing during the match, when it is time to switch on who is doing better, how long they have, etc.

As for things that they come to the ring with mikes for, they might have a general idea of what to say, or have lines memorized, that one I'm not to sure about.

UFC has just gained huge mainstream exposure and it's definitly the big thing and THE THING to watch, I'm a fan myself but that's not to say I'm not a WWE fan. I look at the UFC product and then look at the WWE product and the difference is outstanding as far as UFC die hard fans and WWE die hard fans. UFC is for serious fighting sport fans, WWE is for anyone that doesn't take it too seriously and just has fun watching it. I'm into both and when a UFC fan that has never watched the WWE does watch it, I can understand what they see and why they shoot down the WWE product. But at the end of the day, they are both very different, ones entertainment for entertainment value and the other is entertainment on a sporting level.

During a live show, there was a spot where the soundboard was, and you could see every winner, because their music was queued up so early in the match. A referee was feeding lines to the referee, and the referee will give those instructions to the wrestlers.

Some might have lines, but they some some others improvise. I'd compare it to "Curb Your Enthusiasm". They don't have lines, but they have a path to follow. They know where to begin and where to end, how you get there is up to the skill of the people speaking

Yes, unless it's a shoot interview where they improv a lot of the stuff, same in the ring. Only the finish is usually scripted, there is a lot of improv, it's still more entertainment than sport though.

There are very vague "lines" involved, the more experienced and better superstars will improvise a lot too and do and say things as it comes. You saw improvisation with The Rock a lot. :)

I'm sure they are given suggestions on what to say, and sometimes they are told what to say, but there has to be room for ad libbing.
