  • Down stairs tenant's "stuff" is taking over common areas?

She is also the landlord's MOTHER and he refuses to have anything to do with this dispute.

I have conceded the entire laundry room to her (including use of the washer and dryer.) We were unable to use the courtyard all summer because she covered the tables and chairs with junk (still there, hasn't moved in months.) She trashpicks indoor furniture and leaves it outside till it molds, then either I get rid of it or she moves it into the house (she picked up a chair set in June and moved them inside last week.) The basement stairs are blocked by her cardboard delivery boxes because she's too lazy to walk to the trash barrels. Yesterday she stuffed giant rubbermaid containers into the garage blocking the door and all outside tools.

I was nice and asked politely, I was not nice and ripped her out, now I'm almost at the point of taking all her junk and moving it to her yard (we each have a section of yard that is our own.)

They have also broken the gate 5 times in the past year, letting my dog out into the street, endangering my child, and forcing me to make repairs.

I'm at my wits end, how far can I go before she calls the cops?

  • Do Christians realize how offensive other faiths (and lack of faiths) find this?

The very idea of getting on my knees and begging a dead god to save me from a great evil that he is threatening me with? Begging mercy for being who and what I was made to be. Betraying my faith, and my Deities that have guided me well. Selling my soul on the threat of torture.

That is what I hear from many Christians when they try to convert me. I don't think this is intentional, has this ever occurred to any of you?

I know Christians don't see it this way, but other faiths do. Some atheists do. I know this very question might offend you, but comfort yourself that it will aid to your arsenal the next time you try to convert someone.

  • Spiritually speaking, if the state took over my child support, but doesn't enforce the order, what rights do I?

    ...have?

He has been reported to the credit bureau so far, but that does nothing, his credit is shot anyway. Is there anything I can do to help enforce the order?

I will add that he makes about $700 a week, just bought (and insures) a pretty red Fire-bird, and moved into a new apartment so his new girlfriend can live with him.

Sorry about the mis-category, law and ethics has almost no traffic.

  • Who ever told you kids that life is fair? Or that you should get what you want?

It seems to me that someone has been poisoning the minds of our youth. Teens today seem to have this notion that life is fair. That consequences always fit the intentions of the crime, that how they feel about something is more important than what they did. They seem to believe that they are entitled to certain privileges and have the audacity to call their parents hypocrites for not allowing things like tattoos or alcohol.

Who is telling you guys that life is fair? Who in the world gave you the impression that you should have something just because some one else has it? Do you think this person is your friend?

  • If the laws of a religion other than yours became law of the land, would you support or oppose?

My last question was if the laws of your religion became law of the land. 2/3 would like to see their religious laws became law of their nation. Now put the shoe on the other foot. How would you feel if a religion different from your own made all the rules that you must obey?

  • If the laws of your religion became the laws of the land, would you support or oppose?

As a matter of principle, would you want all the laws of your faith (or lack of) to be the laws that governed your nation?

  • If you were getting beat by your Deity (or authorized representative of said Deity)...?

...like a red headed stepchild for misusing some part of the faith, what do you think they would be saying if you represent your religion as a whole?

Atheists, please consider this to be a hypothetical question and pick a philosopher or scientist of some type.

  • Who is your favorite character/entity from a faith other than your own?

Just pretend its a fictional story (if you are atheist you believe this anyway) who is your favorite character in the story?

From the Abrahamic faiths, Lilith is definitely one of my favorites. I love her spirit and her will. Buddha is also a big favorite of mine, he's just got a great story. The same with Jesus, he was a great character of a very admirable story.

    Who are your favorites?

(I'm not implying that anyone's faith is wrong or fictional, pick a faith other than your own and pretend it's just a story, like Star Wars)

  • How does one become and atheist?

I keep reading questions about people who want to be atheists, or concerned about their family members wanting to be atheist. I was under the impression that an atheist is a person who does not believe in a deity or follow a religion. So how can someone who believes something to be true, make an active choice to want to not believe something.

I can understand reaching a conclusion from a starting point of skepticism, but to go from a believer to an atheist because you want to not believe is very confusing to me.

  • Hypothetical question to all religions?

If your god (assume fore the sake of argument that there is no doubt that it is your god who is talking) showed up and told you, point blank, that you have been mislead, and everything you have been taught is wrong, how would you react?

Example: If Allah showed up and told a Muslim man that He wanted to be worshiped the way the pagans worship Odin.

Remember the only absolute in this question is that it is YOUR GOD making this command.

  • I just heard the best suggestion to bring peace over the issue of the Mosque near the 9/11 site?

...build a gay bar at the site. That way, all the bigoted a**hole Christians and Muslims, can gather and protest together on something besides how wrong each of them are. If they both can't be happy, lets make them both miserable.

Personally, I know this is a joke, the Mosque has been approved and will be built at some point. But I am curious, what would be the gay communities opinion of being used in such a way?

Keep in mind, this was only said as a joke, but it did get me thinking. I'm just curious to your opinions please.

  • Christians, if your God is all powerful, than why must He conform to the Bible?

Let's just say for example a few of your faiths followers, pushed people away, got the message wrong, taught of God's hate instead of God's love. Pretty much, ensured that people who would otherwise be believers, left His church. What I don't understand, is why can't your God use science to reach His people or evolution to develop the world? Why can he not be called by the name Odin? Why must He be a he? Why does He not have the ability or right, to call on His people as He chooses and have those people call to Him in a name they understand?

  • Is there a way to find out if a car seat has been in an accident?

Is there a registry, or do police take note of such things? Do individual seats have serial numbers?

  • Teaching faith to a child, as opposed to religion?

I was thinking of starting with the Bushido code, just because it covers the basic values I want my child to have and then move to Buddhist philosophy. I would like my child to have faith, but cannot assume that any Deity will call him, and of course cannot presume to know which one. I was thinking of this path so he would have a spiritual and moral base, without the specific dogma of any religion.

    Any thoughts?

  • Spiritually speaking, should I tell my son's father I am working?

My son's father thinks I sit on my butt all day and collect welfare. The truth is I collect welfare ($95 a week) and work under the table ($150 a week) This is the only reason I can afford to have any leniency with him when it comes to his child support ($65 a week) that he hasn't paid in 5 weeks. And yes I know I need to hit up the court house about that.

The issue is, I don't think he is smart enough to understand that. He might well go off the handle and try to make it so that I can't collect welfare, of course what would happen is I wouldn't be able to work at all, but I'm not sure how he would handle it.

I'm asking here because there are more people and strangely the whole seems much smarter than the rest of Y!A, sorry for the categorizing.

    Any advice?

  • On principle alone, can I dislike Twilight just because...?

    Vampires don't f*cking sparkle?

There are cultures around the world who all have vampire stories. Sparkling vampires is almost insulting to the imagination, real or not.

I have been able to avoid this book series and was recently conned into watching one of the movies. I really hope I forget in a few days.
