Is there a way to find out if a car seat has been in an accident?

Is there a registry, or do police take note of such things? Do individual seats have serial numbers?

You'd have to find out if the car itself was in a accident. As for finding out if the seat was in it, that would probably be left up to business integrity.

no, there is no way to know if a car seat has been in a car accident. which is the best reason why no one should buy car seats used from anyone that they don't completely trust. saving a couple dollars isnt worth putting your childs safety at risk.
