Is the All-Star Hotel on the Walt Disney World Resort property worth staying in? If so, why? If not, why not?
If it isn't, do you have a better recommendation? It can be another hotel either on or off the Walt Disney Resort Park property.

It is and it isn't. Really depends. If you can get one of their great deals, like when they are 49 dollars a night. Then yes its extremely worth it. But if you can't, then no. Reasons: The bus system is like a cattle call. You have you line up, and wait. The beds are really hard and small since they are doubles. Not very much room to move around, they want you in the parks. It really depends on your budget on what to recommend to you, there are a lot of nice off property hotels, what is your price range? Also you can always ask Disney Reservation about other deals going on in their hotels. We called in July of 2008 and we got a the Wilderness Lodge for only 134 a night. They were trying to fill rooms last minute. :P So ask about the difference, and see if they can work with you.

We stayed at Disney's Pop Century and it was great for the price. My girls ( 10 and 13) loved it. It is worth it to stay on Disney property because of the transportation to the parks. The buses run all the time right from the hotel. The Pop Century has it's own bus and that is why we stayed there over the All-Star. We were told that the All-Star shares a bus with the Sports and Music hotel as well and is more crowded. The room at the Pop Century was small but nice and the food was really good. The only downfall was that the food court was very crowded but I guess Disney is always crowded! There are 3 pools and all were nice. I've never stayed at the All-Star but I've heard it is nice too. I would definitely stay on Disney property. have fun!

Yes, it is very worth staying in. It is the cheapest hotel on Disney Property and yet it still has the nice Disney touches. Sure, the beds might be "hard" but if you pay the same amount to stay in a small hotel outside of Disney, the beds will be just as hard, and it wont have the perks you get on Disney property like the bus system and extra magic hours. If you do choose an All-Star Resort, I would definitely choose All-Star SPORTS. It is the first on the bus route, so when you get on a bus after a long day at the park and are just ready to get back and lay down, your the first stop. Although, when you get on the bus from the hotel, you are the first to get on, and have to wait to go to all the other All-Star Resorts. If sports aren't your thing, that's okay. you can always ride the bus to the others and see their theme pools and playgrounds. It is full of Disney Spirit and if you are with kids, they will LOVE it.

1) Disney is amazing. 2) It doesn't matter whether you stay at the Pop Century or at one of the All Star Resorts because they are all pretty much the same thing. They are clean, and definitely worth the stay. The transportation provided by the hotels is amazing, even if you want to go to Downtown DIsney. I never waited for more than 5 minutes for a bus to the theme park. You should also check out the extra magic hours that are ONLY FOR DISNEY RESORT GUESTS. That is a very very cool extra. You should pick the resort theme that you like whether its sports, music, etc. because the rooms will look practically exactly the same in any of them. ;) Have fun

It all depends on what you are looking for. I have worked at Disney and stayed there many times. If Pop Century is available I would recommend that one as it is the same price and the newest. If you are looking to stay on property and take advantage of the early magic hours and free transportation I think it is a good option. It is the cheapest of the Disney hotels and in reality for most trips you spend very little time in the room or resort. I would not recommend staying off property unless you have a car.
I have an article regarding this you may want to check out http://insidemouse.com/stay-at-a-disney-resort/

Well, for value resorts at Disney World, you have the All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, and All-Star Music, then you have the Pop Century Resort. I would recommend the Pop Century. It's cleaner, they dont let in large school groups, and its more family oriented, for the same price, and same amentities! Definitly go with the Pop Century! It's the newest of all Disney Hotels, and its the newly renovated.

No its not, my sister paid a fortune to stay there,we were going a week later and chose a hotel on international drive instead. She was very disapointed, she said it was way overpriced for what it was, constantly crowded and everything in disney inflated the cost of her holiday. It just wasnt worth it. I on the other hand paid a fantastic price for a 4 star hotel on international drive and loved it plus I felt i got value for money. Here is the link they are very cheap with this company, even cheaper than the hotel website,by 100s. http://www.alpharooms.com/?r=affiliate&_$ja=tsid:3... The hotel is called the orlando metropolitan resort, they also have a lot of other hotels in orlando some of which I have stayed in but I would recommend that one.

they are all very clean and nice, but way out from the parks, but ride the bus and you an go anywhere, they cost less and are small, but if on a budget they are fine as your not in the room that much anyway.
the other hotels moderate and upscale cost more and are not any nicer except bigger and closer to parks.
if you go to disneyworld.com and click hotels and they are all listed with pictures and prices.
I have stayed at many of them and find one not that much better as far as cleanliness or nicer as disney goes things very well with those items.so check out their website and find the price you want to pay.

The All-Stars are ok but if you're going to stay at them stay at the Movies or Music, don't stay at the Sports. It's the worst of the three.

Not really its too far away from the parks and its not on the monorail and the buses take forever to wait for
