My graphics get worse the longer that my computer is on?
There are some games like NHL 09 that work great when I first start my computer up, but start to get really choppy the longer my PC is on. Lowering the display settings in the game doesnt help. I know its not a heat issue as well. Any suggestions?
Im running 32 bit Vista Home Premium
Graphics Card is a GeForce 8600 GT
I was thinking its the RAM. I know its not recommended to have it set up like this but I have 3 sticks at 1 gig each. But even though it screws up the ability to use dual channel, I still figured that would be enough run the game. I shut down all other programs except explorer before I start the game too.
1. I was having the exact same problem before I installed this card.
2. I dont think its the monitor. If I restart the computer the problem goes away.

Your problem lies in RAM. How much RAM do you have? RAM is the virtual memory your computer has. I have 6GB or RAM and I never get that problem because I have tons of RAM. If you have like 500mb, or less than 2GB thats probably the problem. Just restart your computer and that should work. Or you could upgrade your RAM.

Perhaps it is time for a new video card.

The problem happened before the card?
Maybe you should take your computer to a friends house, use their monitor and see if the same thing happens again.
