How do I rewrite over on a CD-RW?

How do I erase the data on a CD-RW?

Do I just put the disk in my E drive and try to save stuff onto it?

Will it record over the info, or do I have to reformat the disk (erase the content on the disk) before I can use it again?

easy 10 points

thanks!

No sorry CD-RW don't work like USB flash drives. You must erase them before rewriting data on them again. I know this because I've been doing this for years.

To keep the data, copy it to your computer first then erase it to make the CD rewritable again. To do the actual erasing, follow the links below.

I think you are right. you should just be able to save more stuff on to it if there is room on the cd.but if you don't want to keep whats already on it you should reformat it.
