The Detroit Science Center is great, lots of hands-on stuff to do. The DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) is beautiful. A Red wing or Tigers game. Greektown is fun to walk around in. Mexicantown also has great restaraunts. Nearby in Dearborn, The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Villiage are not to be missed. They also have an IMAX theatre there.
Check out the Detroit website. Just search Detroit on the internet. There are also great plays and musicals at the Fischer Theatre, and The Gem Theatre and The Opera house.

The absolutely best thing to do if you find yourself in Detroit is leave as soon as possible. Hitch a ride, stow away on a truck, whatever you have to do.
