The $900 Government Grant (australia)?

Does anyone know what is happening with the grant for people that lodged tax returns for 2008? are we getting it and does anyone know when i cant seem to find anything about it on the internet

Update:

unfortunatly the info on the centrelink page only applys to ppl on centre link and not ppl that lodged a 2008 tax return

    try the tax website www.ato.gov.au it tells you who is eligible. unfortunately if you were lucky enough to have gotten all the tax you paid in 2007/08 back you miss out as you had to have paid at least $1 to be eligible

    That's a real good point.... i would say call your local area government

    representative and ask.

    Failing that , or if you don't wish to, then just read the papers daily

    there usually is an article on it.... the journalists seem to have a hard

    time giving it an absence. Why it's almost like they are paying out of

    their own pockets !

    I am so impressed , i never thought i would live to see in my life time

    that the government was giving money to people ..... WOW

    Go centrelink.gov.au It is listed in Important News and will tell you about eligibility etc.
