Appropriate Dress for Grade 9 semi formal? Backless dress?

I know you can't get a new dress, but if you feel uncomfortable about the back, you can always get a cute black balero or shrug to go with it and then if you feel more comfortable at the dance you can always take it off. I'm sure you can find a cheap one online.

By the way, it's all about you feeling comfortable and pretty and if that includes a little modesty, I think that's wonderful and appropriate for a 9th grader. The dress sounds beautiful, and if you want to you should rock it, but it's okay to want to cover up a little.

Aw I think that sounds fine. I'm sure there will be worse dresses worn at this occasion. It isn't particularly short, and it has flowers on - neither of which are slutty. I also consider a backless dress to be more grown up and womanly than slutty. Also it is green, that is a sensible colour! Have fun! xXx

Well my formal was a few days ago (I'm a ninth grader too) and i saw a lot of girls with backless and strapless dresses. I even wore a short strapless dress and I was definitely not the slutty one. You should be fine.

in case you have tried on outfits resembling the form of this one and it seems sturdy on then you i might get it. i think of this is suited for an 8th grader, as I junior i've got already long undergone that grade and that i've got seen some females positioned on some skanky outfits this one looks very suited i don't care what every person says. If the kind is older than you or what, i think of this is wonderful!

Yeah, totally. If you feel comfortable in it, go for it! But, about the back, if you feel that it's a bit to slutty, find a shawl or a cute jacket! It sounds so beautiful, btw!

I don't think that sound THAT slutty, but if you are concerned, you could try wearing a simple white tank top under the dress, assuming it would look okay.
