WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT N.Y. GOV. PATERSON & HIS NEW POLICIES?
If you know anything about what's going on in New York - I'd like your opinion.
It appears that, as usual, Upstate and Western are being screwed to pay for the City AND our Welfare State will be better than ever at the expense of the Middle Class (who pay taxes). (I wonder if Geithner paid STATE tax on that which he failed to pay Federal Tax on??)
It's ANDREW Cuomo.
Robot - we don't WANT to move. Our families and our HISTORY are here. We're very proud of our City of Good Neighbors. Unfortunately, this jackass will force more of our kids to leave - just like my generation.
Krystal - you said it yourself...
Anarchist - my County is the highest taxed in the COUNTRY! The County next door is #2. We get sh!t for it. At least you get the bennies of NYC.
Sarah - you're obviously young. I've been paying for others all my life. We have the best Welfare and Medicaid programs in the Country - and now Paterson wants to tax my POP!! He can got to hell. I'll bet I'm paying for HIS pop too.

He's simply paving the way for Anthony Cuomo's bid for governor.
And the reason our economy is screwed is due to lost revenue from tax income due to the Wall St. crisis.
As an Upstater it will be interesting to see the bid between Cuomo, Giuliani, and Bloomberg...

I really admire Paterson.
Let's face it; we have to pay more somewhere to help the state get out of debt. Would you rather it be an extra tax on luxuries, or would you rather have your income taxes go up?
I know a lot of people are criticizing the tax on gym memberships, but it's not a big deal. 1 - the gym is a luxury. If you can't afford it, don't go. 2 - the tax would be 4%. Which means that if your gym costs $40 a month, the tax would be $1.60. Is that really going to hurt you?
I'd rather have the choice on whether to buy taxed items I don't really need (soda, iPods, gym memberships, etc.) than have more money taken out of my income without my choice.
