Needed marinade for chicken breast (no Italian dressing please)?

There was a very good sale on boneless chicken breast, and since we're down to 1 income, I bought a bunch and froze them. I have made many different chicken dishes, but now in the mood to make just a regular chicken breast in a marinade. I have used the Italian dressing one, which is my regular one, but I want something different. I don't want to go to the store, so no really off the wall ingredient. I have many ingredients at home - lemon juice, oils (olive, vegetable, sesame), soy sauce, vinegar, and many spices -- no wine or beer. I also don't want anything sweet, a savory one is preferred. Recipes that you have tried would be nice, but on-line ones you fine are good too.

Also, if I choose to bake chicken instead of grill/fry - what temp and how long?

I've one for you that I use all the time.

    ~MARINADE~

This is an all-purpose marinade for vegetables, meats, and fish. Leftover marinade can be beated and thickened with arrowroot to be used a a sauce. Yields about 3 cups.

    Ingredients:

    1 purple onion

    4 cloves garlic

    1 c. sherry

    1 c. water

    2 T. soy sauce

    2 T. Worcestershire sauce

3 T. freshly grated ginger (if you have ginger)

    3 bay leaves

    1/2 t. cayenne pepper

1/2 t. coarsely ground black pepper

    juice of 1 lemon

    Directions:

    1) Slice onion very thinly and mash and mince garlic. Combine onion and garlic with all other ingredients.

    2) Place 4 chicken breasts in a shallow pan and marinate for 2 to 3 hours.

    3) Remove from the marinade and bake covered tightly with foil in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour, or until chicken is tender.

You could marinade it in some olive oil, vinegar, garlic, chili powder, salt & pepper.... then pat it dry and put a DRY RUB on it before you grill or bake it. I use alot of chili powder (actually 3 kinds, including chipolte), paprika (including smoky), cumin, salt & pepper. This sounds weird, but I saw it on Unwrapped (used at Dolly Parton's Dollywood restaurant), and I add about 1 TB of unsweetened cocoa powder too to the dry rub! It's very good! ..... You can baste with a BBQ sauce the last 5-10 min or so, but that's not really necessary

My family likes chicken and stove top stuffing. Place your chicken in a casserole, cover with cream of mushroom soup blended with 1/4 cup of milk or sour cream, cover with stove top stuffing prepared according to package directions and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. There is also a recipe on the stove top stuffing pkg to make it with cut up chicken, and frozen vegetables.

Lemon juice (or orange juice), and soy sauce and honey if you have it. Let it marinate and then sprinkle with pepper and garlic salt when cooking.

taryaki sauce alone is good for chicken by itself. let it marinade overnight. this will taste very good on the grill too.
