Faking mental illness to get out o the Army?
My husband did and, he got discharged.
He is supposed to go home to MA to get his things from his mothers and then come here on the 27th.
He left KY on Thursday, hasn't answered my calls or texts since.
But I know he is home and has his phone because I can look on sprint.com to check his phone usage.
Anyway, I have no access to any money and he won't talk to me. Isn't he a fukcing peach?
I have a 2 month old baby.
I need to know if he can get in trouble for lying to the military?
I want to File an abandonment report but will have to explain.
I don't really care if he gets in trouble that this point as he obviously doesn't care if his son eats or not.
First he tried to get out on "scoliosis" and when that didn't work he told them he was going to kill himself and was in a mental hospital for like a week.
There is nothing wrong with him. I've been with him long enough to know bullshit when i see it.
His mommy never made him finish anything, high school, etc and now he's quit boot camp!
man did i pick a winner. :D
no rude comments. I just need to know if he'll get in trouble if i file a report.
He got a med200 discharge, if that makes a difference.
he didn't go AWOL
but he was discharged under a false med condition.
isn't it illegal to lie about stuff since we're at war?

You're husband was a piece of **** before all of this. Faking a mental illness for a discharge. What a loser.

Unfortunately there is not a lot that the military can do if he is already discharged. Also you would need some kind of proof that he faked his mental condition in order to get him in trouble.
My best advise to you for the time being is to contact WIC and try to get some assistance. Getting assistance from WIC may take a little while, so to get money in the mean time try donating plasma or something.
I'm not sure what other advice to give you. If you still have a valid ID card, and are covered under tricare you may be able to go to the Army community service or Family advocacy to try to get some help.
Good luck.

i think of the answer to that would lie in yet another question. Why are such countless people being clinically determined with psychological ailments? interior the bright prognosis a clinical expert has to make a prognosis of what's taking place with the guy. If the guy isn't surely sick why then diagnose? psychological ailment for some who have not lived with it variety of feels a attainable thank you to flee some realities of their life, outcomes or to create an evidence for in any different case unacceptable habit. What they don't comprehend is that persons with an ailment are no longer searching for an excuse or a manner out yet relatively a manner in. In to wider society that should grow to be greater accepting and attainable. regrettably simply by fact some anybody is permitted to malinger there is skepticism while somebody who has a actual psychological ailment tries to create a greater attainable atmosphere. Blame no longer purely people who're faking yet blame professionals who do no longer take sufficient time to diagnose. P.S. it relatively is complicated on many medical doctors to diagnose given restricted time, financial and clinical framework wherein to handle a given affected person, simply by HMO rules, coverage rules etc.

He's been discharged. He isn't the Military's problem anymore. Having mental issues prior to joining and them coming to the surface during BCT (the type of discharge he got- see diablo_6 post for description) is NOT against the law.
If he isn't contacting you and you need or want to file charges then you need to seek out a civilian attorney and go from there. Basically sorry to say it but there is NOTHING the Military can or will do for you.

Once you are put into a mental hospital, that record will stay with him forever. If a background check is ever done on him, that will show up and he will not be hired. But if I were you, I would certainly file for abandonment. At the very least, he would then have the police looking for him. His life is going to be hel* from now on because of his STUPID selfish act. Even mom will have a hard time protecting him from now on. Always remember to protect yourself first. BTW, you may want to move away where he can't find you too.

Well a med-200 is a medical discharge from a pre existing medical condition.
If it were a mental health discharge it would be a chapter 5-17.
We use chapter 5-17 to get rid of worthless whining crap, its easier to tell them to go cry to mental health or give them a commanders referral to mental health and get rid of them, since they don't want to be here anyways.
It was probably the chain of command getting rid of a worthless Soldier more than anything else....and yeah he sounds like a real winner.

Ok you should delete this from yahoo and anywhere else you have posted because he can get caught all anybody has to do is call the armed forces and tell them what has been done and they will Find out who lied to them and of course it won't be pretty he will get in a lot of trouble for doing that just to get out.
Source(s): my sister done that and lets just say i had to bail her out of jail - Anonymous1 decade ago
He can get into a lot of trouble. It's a felony offense. Possible jail time. File the abandonment. Since he got out on a mental issue it will be hard to prove he faked it though. I'm a soldier and anyone who abandons his or her family doesn't deserve it. Please get rid of this guy.
