Is it weird that I never want to have kids/even like them?

I'm 21 now and at 16 I had the exact same feeling as you.. now I'm not crazy about kids but I def. see them in my future.. I guess people like us will never be crazy about other people's kids.. like if we're out and we see a cute baby my friends go nuts and they play with it and stuff like that but I just stand there bored and ask them if we can please get going.. so yea.. however.. i def. wanna have kids of my own someday and i think i will love them and care about them.. I dont wanna have kids now but maybe a few years from now.. like maybe when i'm 24 or sth..

at the end of the day if you still dont like kids you dont have to have kids.. dont let anybody make you feel weird about it.. alot of women choose not to have any and they end up fine.. everyone of us is meant to do sth in his/her life and i'm sure there is sth gr8 you are meant to do.. maybe it has nothing to do with being a mom but it doesnt mean its gonna be less important or whatever..

You're a little young to come to such a conclusion, but you're far from alone. If you don't want to have kids, there's nothing wrong with that, and maybe it's good you recognize that early. I have issues myself beyond a fondness for caffeint that make me think I'd be a terrible mom.

Two things:

1) Nobody "likes" abortion, not even the doctors who perform them.

2) If you don't want kids, use birth control *scrupulously*. As soon as you are an adult, talk to your OB-GYN about tubals. I understand women in their 20s have a hard time (heck, I'm 40, and have been asking for years, and my doctors seem reluctant), but be persistent.

If you don't like kids, I think it's great that you don't want to have any. Tell your friends that peek-a-boo is a small part of kids. Kids are actualyy a ton of work. Or a metric ton, wherever you live (grin) There are so many unwanted kids out there already. I think you've made a very grown up decision. You can always change your mind. btw I'm a father of 2 and love it.

Lots of women choose not to have kids- to each their own! Dont let school or friends sway your decision. Youre only 16-and having or not having kids should be the least of your worries. Concentrate on becoming a good adult, get educated, get a good job, then worry about bringing someone else into the world.....or not.

No it is not weird at all. I wanted one child and had him. Then my now ex-wife hoodwinked me into having another because I thought I should do anything to make her happy. Don't ever let anyone change how you feel about this subject, do what you want, there are a lot of children brought into this world because one of the partners is badgering the other for them.

If it makes you feel any better kids don't want you as a mother anyhow. Nor do children like you...

You are mentally sick.

You have to meet a psychologist immediately about this unwanted negative thinking towards children.
