Im 31 weeks pregnant and my doc said I'm measuring 32 weeks...?

does this mean I'm having a large baby or that she may come a little early? At my 20 week ultrasound, they said she measured a week behind, now she is a week ahead. I'm a little confused.

Update:

My son was 7 lb 13 oz at birth, and so far I have only gained 14 lbs during this pregnancy if that makes a difference.

Thats normal. Babies are all different and grow at different rates they dont always match up with where they are suppose to be. My son was like a week behind

Generally being a week behind or a week ahead is considered normal. My daughter measured small until 22 weeks, and after that she always measured a week ahead. When she was born she weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. so it didn't make much of a difference size wise. Congratulations on the baby!

  • I wouldnt worry love! I had a scan at 38 weeks and baby measured 42 weeks... I gave birth at 40 weeks 5 days to a healthy 8 pound baby girl!

you dont measure on your week after 27 weeks I think thats the week anyways). I was always meauring a week and a half to two weeks ahead.

It doesnt even mean you'll have a large child, just baby moves around in positions etc.

I wouldnt give it another thought.

like sarah said they change possitions when in the womb i once messured at 38 when only 34 weeks gone i was really worried but my midwife explained this to me...

it could also mean you have a large 'bag of waters' where the baby is :)

    hope this helps

good luck and congrats on your creation of life :)

Babies change positions which makes em measure differently. I wouldn't worry about a week early, if your doctor isn't worried!

    Good Luck!
