Help modifying two-way radios?
I got Midland GXT950's with 30 mile range. They work great as long as both parties have them. But as soon as someone tries talking to you on a different radio then you can't hear them. So sounds like the 30 mile range is only applied to the "Transmitting" end, not "receiving" end. Is there a way to modify them? Anyway to bump-up the Rx wattage?

Not much, its how radios work, the more powerful the signal they put out the farther it reaches, if the other signal only reaches 5 miles a radio 30 miles away wont receive it. Fashioning a larger antenna may help if you are getting a week signal but for the most part ot wont help.
