Can someone please explain to me............?
If the Presidential election wasn't supposed to be about race, then why is everyone making such a big deal about Obama being the first black President?? Shouldn't we be more concerned about his policies than his skin color?
Hey Jafeeirt, first of all, I am NOT racist, I simply asked why the race of the President was so important. Secondly, I am FEMALE. Sounds like you are the one who is racist. Grow up.

Because to say that you didn't want him as a president automatically marks you as a racist, even if you oppose based on policies and not on skin color.
Yes, we SHOULD be more concerned about his policies, but we're dealing with a national media that wants to sensationalize things and a nation willing to elect representatives based on a platform of "elect me, I'm not an evil Republican."
I don't have a particular party leaning, but that was literally the content of some of the ads that ran for some of the senators and congressmen who got elected. They never actually said what they stood for or what they would do for the country, they just tried to scare people away from the other guy. If we're willing to fall for these tactics, we deserve what we get.

You can believe that I do care more about his policies! They scare the %^$ out of me. He is heading us "do not pass go" straight into being attacked and occupied because of the white flag he flies from his white house.
unemployment, free trade, health care, environment... all are important, but fade in comparison to this country being maimed and occupied by a power that has vowed to kill anyone who does not bow down to Allah.
His color???? he looks more yellow than anything else.

yes i agree with Janey. some people are ignorant and try not to think about policies and ideologies. so they just vote for what they can see on the outside (that hes an african american). these people use the "ignorance is bliss" ideology to get through life. now look where we are.

because most people are ignorant about the policies so they concentrate on what is very visable.
