Just buy lots of Coca Cola shares. If it can survive the Great Depression then it will survive this.
Seriously the only way you'll overthrow this manipulated bear market is by picking high dividend stocks like PFE and GE.
There's too much 'noise' driving down the market at the moment. All I can say to the people spreading 'bank nationalization' rumors is PROVE IT!

The reason the market is low is because there is low consumer confidence and companies are struggling.. and it's not wise to invest in a company that is struggling when there is low economic support to help it regain itself. But if you notice the companies that are healthy still have healthy stock... it's because their likely hood of failing is low

Who said its low? Maybe its still too high. Maybe the 5900 level would be considered low. So maybe you shouldn't buy. Remember, there must have been alot of irrational exuberance to push the market all the way to 14,100 Who could have justified that?

Because you could have said the same thing last year and it is lower now.
Losing money is dumb. People that bought higher thought they were "smart" too.
But I am buying some here and there.

I'm not, and you have the right idea. Blue chippers that pay dividends are the way to go. Growth stock no load funds are good too for the long term.

there is no price so low that it can not go to zero and you'll then lose every cent you bet.
