Why are receptors for steroid hormones located inside the cell rather than on the membrane surface?
A) The receptors can be stimulated to exit to the membrane surface under conditions in which a cell needs to be regulated by the steroid hormone.
B) Steroid hormones are lipid soluble and thus can readily diffuse through the lipid bilayer that makes up the cell membrane.
C) The receptors are repressible, meaning they are actively altering cell function unless the target hormone is present.
D) Cells with steroid hormone receptors inside the cell are not able to respond to steroid hormones

Because steroids are a lipid molecule and can flow freely through the lipid bilayer membrane protecting the cell.... so it is unnecessary for those receptors to be on the membrane surface.
oh i didnt notice the multiple choice --- the answer is B

the main functional answer seems to be the final one. look there are only 2 varieties of hormones the protein hormones and the steroid hormones. The P.H have their receptors on the floor whilst te S.H have their receptors interior the cytoplasm. Now an thrilling actuality is that the finished protein structures can never enter a cellular as an entire yet they enter contained in this sort of amino acids via 2 motives before everything as they're too great to bypass bw the membrane bilayer of phspholipids and secondly they have some polar areas which arent allowed by utilising the nonpolar chains of phospholipids to pass into so now look................ if the S.H can enter the cells then they shud be having neither of the two hinderances..........before everything they shud be small in length and secondly they shudnt be water soluble(polar) yet lipid soluble (non polar) coz in the event that they are not lipid soluble (non polar) then they cant bypass in the process the non-polar phospholipid chains.
