American Idol - why no chairs in holding room?
When they separate the groups into 3 or 4 rooms - and they have to wait to find out if they made it through Hollywood week, why are there no chairs in the holding room? The contestants get to sit at every other time during the tryouts and Hollywood week (even if it's a stadium seat) so how come when they're close to the final cut, it looks like they're in a prison cell? There's only 75 or so people, can't the show afford a few folding chairs at this point? It looks cheap.

They can rent that big mansion just to announce who's going to Hollywood, they can afford to bring in another judge but they can't get those folks chairs while they are waiting?

Maybe they're afraid someone would start throwing chairs if they weren't in the room going through?
