Students only! How has the economic recession affected you? (More questions included)?
I am conducting a research paper on the economy and how the downturns have affected *students* in particular.I'm looking for answers for these questions, but anyyyyyyyy feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!
Is the economic recession affecting you at all? On a scale of 0-10, 0 being "not at all" 10 being "Highly affected"
Has the recession made you more pessimistic? About what?
Are you resorting to criminal activity because you can't get money?
How is the recession affecting you school life - no extra money for books or extra classes and such? Are you reconsidering your career choice because of it?
What about your social life? Has it caused you to stop going out because you're in a tight squeeze?
Would you even go so far to say that it makes relationships a bit more strained? (I mean, marriages are falling apart cause of it,so why not family relationships or friends even?)
What about your morals? have they changed because of it?
And your health? Is it being affected at all by the recession? How so?

Honestly I Can't gauge it yet because I am just about to transfer to a 4year university BUT I will need to start looking for more places to get money to pay for my education.

Regardless of how bad it gets I will always have hope and I thank god for my job, I work full time and go to school full time...the only thing I may be down about is again finding loans/grants/scholarships for school.
Are you resorting to criminal activity because you can't get money?
No, I work full time and go to school full time while managing to be an honor student. Hard times don't mean an individual must resort to crime there is ALWAYS an alternative to resorting to crime.

There is less money to go around...I haven't purchased books this semester and thanks to the BOG waiver I don't pay for classes, and to study I check books out from the library that professors put on reserve.

because you're in a tight squeeze?
All work and no play makes sucks, Have I cut back on my social life...DEFINITELY I stay home a lot more aside from working out at the gym I really just don't have the time or money.

My girlfriend and I have handled it well we both understand that this just a bump in the road of life, if anything its brought us closer together.
What about your morals? have they changed because of it?

My morals and values remain the same. Is my health being affected, I guess since I no longer have insurance to try and cut costs and save just a little bit so I can try and save that much more for school.
**a little side note, I moved out when I was 18 and receive no assistance from my parents aside from the occasional laundry drop off(LOL). and to any other students just keep your head up and keep working hard.
hope this helps

The present recession has affected me. Colleges are cutting teachers making some degrees longer to achieve. Grants are harder to get as well as scholarships. Its also harder to find a job that works with my college schedule so money is a little tighter.
Money isnt so tight that i cant eat well but at the same time i cant really do extra things like go to the movies, ski,or do anything that costs money. This does affect friendships in positive and negative ways. It gives you the chance to help each other and stuff.
On a scale of 1-10 i"m a 4 but i think this could change to an 8 by next semester.
good luck on your research

I go to a small town university, so I can't say that I've been affected by the recession as much as students in larger cities. However, I have been affected most when buying groceries, even at Walmart.
