When did politics become......?

When did politics become more about "me vs you", than "what's best for our country, and our people?"

Every question I click on has at least 20 comments like this:

Democrats could kick Repungentcans in the head!

Republicans would headbutt you SO HARD!

Obama FTW!

McCain FTMFW!

First!

HAHAHAH, he said first and he's like, the 23rd person!!! LOL

I mean c'mon here people, too many people are focusing on the wrong things, like who's better looking, and who's a whore.

Wouldn't it be crazy to have a real discussion on here for once????

Sorry dude but you must be new. I was confused when I first came here but then I figured it out. YA is just like talk radio. An anonymous place where people vent and yell at each other. I would say that only 1 out of every 10 questions are people trying to get information about politics. I wouldn't take anything said here seriously. It's keyboard crossfire. More fun than anything else.

It became that way during the elections. This was the method the Obama camp used and well....once you teach a dog to fight based on reactions, it's hard to take back. A large portion of the people here live for partisan hatred. In fact, it has completely clouded their ability to THINK for themselves. Which is why they think every report on the news that isn't in favorable light to them is automatically labeled a lie. All I can say is....

The partisan hacks can wither away. Survival of the fittest. I don't have time or the energy to try and save those who would rather hiss, spit and spew venom than look at the country's problems. They will be the ones hit the HARDEST when it all comes down. They weren't expecting it.

Part of the problem is this isn't a 'discussion' forum.

This is a Q & A forum where everyone has one shot to get their point across.

OK, that didn't answer your question, but personally, I've seen politics get nastier and nastier since---- Carter?

My roommate made me walk home after driving me to the polls when they found out who I voted for.

I don't think that would last very long. Anonymous forums attract idiots from every political party. The very best that can be done is to report the more hateful ones.

Maybe we need to just go ahead and merge the Ultimate Fighting Championship with the major political parties. Whoever kicks *** wins. Why not? It couldn't possibly get any worse.....

  • I wanted to talk about real issues, the last one I posted was today asking what inspirations, new thoughts/perspectives, and other positive ideas did you they from the Obama's speech?

I received three hateful republicans answer, one wish washy libertarian answer, and no Democrats

It would be nice, but did you see the debates? When the politicians attack each other the people think that's the way we do business unfortunately. Besides, everyone always likes someone they can point the finger of blame at rather than assessing their own part of the wrong doings.

It's only a select few, the main arguement is between what is right and who is right. I dont see what your saying all that often but that is the childish mentality of certain people and yes it is rather frustrating.

I agree. I hate the bomb throwing going on here. However we do have to understand that pople have different opinions on how best to accomplish things... so there will always be fights... and that's the way it has always been.

Yes it would. Politics have become like sporting events.

No longer can people have a mature conversation about them.
