What kind of squash is this?

What kind of squash has green on the outside and is circular around. Also when you bite into it you would see yellow on the inside.

I think you mean kabocha squash which is available year-round, or possibly a winter cup squash but these have usually gone by now. If it's a soft, small green squash it might be an eight-ball squash (or round courgette). I love squash- I love that they're called squashes, that there's so many different types, their colours and shapes are fantastic, they all taste gorgeous, they're really versatile, they store well, they're really good for you and they're cheap.

"He'd break his teeth trying to bite into that!"--not if it's cooked already. Duh.

Could be an acorn squash. Might be chayote but I've not seen with yellow insides. It's almost as if you're describing an avocado, which isn't a squash.

Sounds like a merliton or chayote squash. .... LOL - someone said Acorn squash! He'd break his teeth trying to bite into that!

Koosa is the Arabic word for a courgette (also used in Hebrew slang, as the Hebrew word - kishoo - is quite similar). Koosa Makhshi is a courgette hollowed and stuffed with a mixture of rice, minced meat and herbs.
