i went to lay offs next week and they have been laying off for awhile now that cant be good

Might be slow with their reporting. Might want to break the news a little at a time so to not affect their stock.

The number of layoffs don't need to be reported to the media by the company - the statistics are released by Unemployment based on the number of claims filed per company. Interestingly enough, if you google "google layoffs" there are a number of stories reporting on the issue,, so it depends on where you are getting your news as to why you haven't read about it yet.
