What will happen when we run out of land for cemeteries?

It is just that I have noticed two new cemeteries in the area and I thought what will happen when we keep filling them up and needing more land?

Well, I certainly hope not. What would we do with all the bodies. I guess we could cremate everyone, but then there wouldn't markers for people to remember us by.

I seldom visit the graves of my relatives because I know they are not in those places. I believe in the ashes to ashes and dust to dust philosophy so cremation is the way to go. There are too many people already on this planet and to take up good farming spots for cemeteries is a real waste when the land is needed for food production. And unless I really do something to be remembered for, the need for a marker is just not there.

Most areas just top up the land over the very old graves.

We will never run out of space as land runs low it will just become more and more expensive to buy a burial plot, so people will look to other things like cremation.

My roomate from japan says that they cremate people over there because there is too many people and the land is small.
