My daughter (22 months) wakes up for juice 3 times a night?

....and its driving me crazy! I try letting her cry it out but she is keeping me up all night crying for juice and I'm exhausted for work in the morning. Any suggestions?

Update:

Thanks everyone for the advice! :)

Update 2:

My daughter does not like milk so she gets her calcium other ways. I try giving her water but she doesn't want it. Im just trying to wean her off of drinking in the middle of the night all together. I guess I will be a tired soul for this week :-/

STOP GIVING HER JUICE!! There are sugars in it that are keeping her from sleeping all night. Give her milk or water.

I agree with the others. Start weaning her off of the juice. It's inferior in nutrition and loaded with sugar. The way to start weaning her is to start watering down her juice and start giving her more water and milk.

Do you try feeding her cereal just before she goes to bed? The baby cereal like rice or cream of wheat fills them up and keeps them asleep longer. Could possibly put a little juice or water in a sippy up where she can get it. but not milk that could spoil. Does she drink a lot of water or fluid? If so, need to check her for diabetes (monitor sugar). If this is still going on then check with the doctor. Juice does have a lot of sugar in it. Sugar also makes us crave more.

As others have said the juice is bad for her teeth. so is milk. put water in her cup and give it to her when you lay her down. if she cries let her cry. within a few days she will not even notice. good luck.

Milk has protein in it and will take longer to digest and so she wont wake as often. Same with adults, carbs with out protein makes you hungry. Mix some cereal in with it as well. Juice will rot her teeth also.

I went through that with my son (16 years ago) it's terrible.

I know she really wants the juice, my son did too. Please try to stop! This is so bad for her teeth. Try water...I'm sorry I don't have any good tricks for you to try but my son's teeth got so bad he had to get caps on all four front teeth. Try to talk to her about sleeping and not getting up for juice. Try to explain that Mommy has to sleep to get up and take care of her and go to work. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

  • its really bad to be given her juice in the night you should try giving her water instead.

start giving her water. She shouldn't be having juice during the night anyhow, too much sugar, can ruin the teeth.

just say no. It'll suck at first and you'll loose more sleep initially, but once she figures out she cant have it and has to sleep then she will stop.

You gotta set the rules and be firm, or she'll run you over.
