  • Question on boosters for toddlers?

I wanted to know the pros and cons (if any) of the boosters with the 5pt harness (with the back) and the boosters that dont have the back to them and you just put the seat belt on. Is there a difference as far as safety? I read several reviews that the booster with the back and harness on it is much safer but if so, why? What type of booster do you use and why?

  • I need some parenting advise please?

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and she sleeps in the bed with me. I live in a one bedroom apartment so getting her, her own room is out of the question. I need suggestions on getting her to sleep in her own bed (that is in the same room as me) and how to stop her from drinking liquids throughout the night. Here lately she is waking up 2 times a night wining for juice and it interupts my sleep and its driving me crazy. I tried letting her cry it out but its hard when i live in apartment and I am so conscience of the tenants next to me and her making too much noise at the wee hours of the night. I need some help, any suggestions????

    Thanks in advance!

  • Does green mucus in the nose neccesarily means "infection"?

My daughter is getting over a cold and has had a runny nose for the past week. Her daycare provider is pushing the issue for me to get a doctors appointment becuase of the color and says that she (my daughter) is not suppose to be at daycare with a runny nose of that color. My thing is, she doesn't have a cough or fever or anything of that nature that can be contagious, she just has a runny nose that is a yellowish/greenish color.

Do you think that is enough reason to keep your daughter at home? I am a single mom and I work so taking off of work for "runny nose" is not that serious to me. What you think?

  • How do I know if my daughter likes her new daycare?

Ok heres the run down. My daughter (2 years old) has been watched by her grandmother while i am at work since she was 4 months. However, she has started a new daycare and I have so many mixed feelings about it. This is her second week there and she has been screaming and hollering when i drop her off (which is expected, I know) but the first couple of days she did fine and it seems like the crying is getting worse. shouldn't it be getting better if anything being that this is her 2nd week? Then when I go to pick her up she looks like she is just miserable there....idk what to think. is it just this common or should i look into this more?

  • When potty training a toddler what do you think works best? Pull ups or underwear?

I have been told that going straight from diapers to underwear for potty training is the best way because with the pull-ups it confuses the child and it is too similar to diapers. Have anyone experienced this? Any suggestions are helpful.

  • Child Support Papers?

    I have a dilemma....

My child of 17 months is in the care of her grandmother (fathers mother) whil I work Monday through Friday. I am the ONLY parent that provides for my baby. I pay child care, and I pay for all her necessities. The only thing that her father does is brings her home in the evening when i get home from work.

Ok the problem is, I filed child support on him for the first time and the papers came in the mail stating that I need to have my child care provider feel out a form stating that I do pay for child care. With all that said the child care provider is his mother and i seriously doupt that she will sign the papers. she may feel like she's betraying her son. The thing that i messed up with is I pay her cash and sometimes with a check and i dont have receipts or anything to prove that i pay her child care.

What should I do? How should I approach her with these papers? if she refused to sign should I take my daughter out of her care?

Please Help. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • IS THIS A PHASE MY BABY IS GOING THROUGH?

My daughter is 16 months old and for some odd reason she gives me such a hard time when its time to sleep (naps and night time). when i lay her down she starts kicking and screaming like someone is chocking her. this is all new to me because she usually lays down and plays a bit then knocks out. Is this a phase she is going through? Is she teething? I was thinking maybe she's teething or an ear infection but she only cries when its time to go to sleep so I don't know.

Thank you for all your answers in advance!

  • Why are women like this....?

When a girl posts a pic of herself asking how she looks everyone gives her negative comments but when a guy does the same thing, cute or not he gets positive comments. Why are women like this? We should be embracing our beautiful women not putting them down. Thats what's wrong with women today.....smh!

  • This toddler drives me CRAZY!?

Ok so my boyfriend and I (new relationship) each has 1 child each. He has a little girl (2 yrs. old) and I have a little girl (1 year old). He has his daughter quite often for a single father, however, this little girl IRRITATES me soooo much. I hate feeling this way and I know she is just a kid and try and remind myself of this all the time but she talks back to me (he does get on her for talking back to me) and she does not listen to me. I know I can't discipline his child like I would to my own cus first off she's not my child, secondly I dont know how he would feel about that, third as I said before its a new relationship and just dont feel comfortable doing that just yet.

I am really starting to think that this will put a strain on our relationship because I get in this irritating mood every time his daughter comes around ( I hate feeling like this but I do). Im sure he notices it and eventually it will become a problem. We are very serious with eachother and have talked about marriage and everything but i dont know if this is something that will resurfice in the future and bit me in the ***.

What do you think I should do?

Should I tell him how I feel?

You know how some people you can't tell them anything too harsh about their little one or they'll get defensive and I dont want that to happen. PLEASE HELP!!!! I am getting real sour about this

  • How to deal with a bossy grandmother?

My daughters is 16 months old and her grandmother (Dad's mom) watches her for me during the week. She takes EXCELLENT care of her, however, she tends to not listen to me and want to do things her way.

Example: I want to get my baby off the bottle (like yesterday) and she insist on giving it to her during the day, stating that she is still a baby and too young to take away the bottle. I do not give her a bottle during the evenings when i get her and on the weekends and she does fine. How do I get it across to her that I am the mother and what I say goes and she needs to throw away the bottles NOW without arguing with her?
