Does child support take money out of a disability check? I was told that child support dont touch disabilty. True?

    Normally child support cannot be attached from a disability check. However, you can still have a support order and will have to pay the support or be held in contempt of court.

    If he is receiving SS disability - no that check cannot be touched and is not considered "income".

    While these site do claim that child support can be deducted, I know from personal experience that it is VERY difficult to get a judge to order child support for someone on SSDI.

    You were told right.

    Disability checks aren't taxed, garnished, messed with in any way.

    I heard they do and I heard they don't .. you might have to call SSI to find out
