Driving in the USA with London England drivers license.?

I give up ! Searched till I am blue in the face lol I have read all kind of articles saying a UK tourist can drive in the US with their valid drivers license while visiting BUT can not find any official site that states it in order to print it.

I asked our local police,He flat told me NO ! They would have to obtain an arkansas drivers license or walk.

Can someone send me a link so I can print a copy and have it on hand.

Update:

Reason I want to print it is in case she is stopped can show it to police.Anyone knows once you are written a ticket you either pay fine hire a lawyer or go to court.

best thing would be to go to a site for the DMV in Arkansas. I don't know why you need it printed, but you are allowed to drive on your English license. I'm from england and they said here in South Dakota that i was good until 6 months with mine and then just get an SD one, which i did. you just have to show your license if you need to. having a drivers license from england is prove you know how to drive, people over here know how hard it is to obtained English license. don't worry if you are just visiting you are covered. **** Edit. she doesnt need it printed out, just her English license is allshe will need mate. as far as getting a ticket, yes, you have about a month before the ticket fee is due and you either pay it or go to court over it.

I think an American license will be fine am sure we can rent cars in Europe and US with our UK driving licenses. Never knew you can fly from London to Manchester you would be quicker driving from London straight to Liverpool or getting train and a holiday house in Liverpool seems strange aswell I live in Liverpool can't see why anyone would buy a holiday home here

Car hire companies accept a full UK licence without a problem even a non-photo licence. Driven in California/Nevada since 1981 on over a dozen business and vacation trips with no bother. Last time was June 2008 with a UK photo licence.
