Dog dead - can I still collect the reward?
If someone were to post signs everywhere with photos of their LOST DOG, and I happened to find said dog after it was struck by a car, can I still ask for the reward the people were offering?
But, if they promised a reward, aren't they required to hand it over? They didn't specify how the dog was to be returned...

Absolutely not. It's bad enough the the owner has to suffer the loss of a dog, let alone have someone beg for money.
If my dog ran away I'd probably feel better believing he's so far away that someone else owns him, instead of have someone bring him back dead wanting money.

I'm with Bob- I couldn't do it- I love my animals sooo much- I wouldn't want to cause the people more hardship- be kind to them about the news- most pets are like family members- did you see the car that hit the dog?- in most states its against the law to hit and run, even if it is a dog- maybe the reward could be for finding the person who hit the dog and left it for dead? just an idea.

That would be heartless to do, and I wouldn't be surprised if they hung up on you.
That really is rude to do so.
It's not required of them to do anything, they offered a reward for people to do the right thing and help them.

You can ask for it, but they wouldn't have to give it to you, nor would they be legally obligated to do so.
