Who is more moral....?

Who is more moral, the person who does good because of the threat of punishment, or the person who does good in spite of no such threat?

    I like the phrase "Be good for goodness sake." If you are only good because of some totalitarian cloud fairy then you have issues your faith can't fix.

    I think it's the person who does right just to do it. Not out of spite, not due to threat of punishment but just because it made them feel good in general.

    "The person who does good in spite of no such threat", simply because the drive/Motivation comes from within, it's not forced on.

    The one thats not an idiot bible thumper!!

    The one who enjoys life and feels no such threat is the best.

    The christian who fears their whole life is going to have a rude awakening when they figure out their shitty priest has been lying every sunday.

    neither!

    Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

    Peace!

    Do you mean to compare good done by someone who believes in hell to good done by someone with too much faith to believe in hell?

    It doesn't matter. Do good while being completely wrong about the true nature of reality.

    That's best anyone of us can do. It will have to suffice at this time.

    The latter one. Person who does not need hope of reward and fear of punishment to do what is right.
