Oh I'm so sorry for you. I'm not sure where you are from, but you might be able to collect for unemployment and in PA if you are laid off from a job, you can get COBRA health insurance. Just be sure to have health insurance...that is the most important thing right now.

You will have to wait and see what happens, if your in the UK you can go to the Jobcentre and sign on, thiey will pay you maternity allowance, however it might not be as much as you would be paid if you were on Maternity leave from your workplace. Did you get one of those pregnancy information books when you had your 1st appointment with your midwife? As in the back pages it has all the different types of benefits you are entitled to!!
Good Luck and CONGRATULATIONS xxxx

This just happened to a neighbor of mine. She was 32 weeks pregnant and got laid off. She was able to get health insurance through the state and was able to collect unemployment benefits until she had the baby. After she had the baby she was no longer "able to work" so her benefits stopped until she is released by a physician to "return to work" condition. You only get unemployment benefits if you are actually physically and mentally able to work.

Me and my husband worked for the same company. Im 22 weeks pregnant and we BOTH got laid off 3 weeks ago. I applied for medicaid for the pregnancy, and my husband and i also applied for unemployment. It sucks the way the economy is right now...but it will all work out. There is no other choice right?

brace yourself, if you are laid off in the states you will qulaify for Unemployment, and you shoul dbe able to collect medicad or your states equivilent, you can collect Unemployment for (i believe) 32 weeks now, and it is 65% of you pay, not huge but helps out, and after those 32 weeks you can apply for an extention based on the maternity factor... start padding now..

Legally, the coverage corporation can't in basic terms "drop" you spouse. once you pay your coverage, you're paid for right here 31 days thereafter because of fact that's a pre-pay deal. additionally, reckoning on the state, you spouse's corporation has to grant her the alternative of COBRA, it relatively is definitely permitting some overlap in coverage in step with termination, divorce, illness, or a bypass away of absense.
