I want to add some parts to my 2008 Scion tC but I'm new to this and I need some help?
I have a dark grey 2008 Scion tC and I want to add several things but I have some questions:
1) I want to add a muffler but what is a good kind and how much?
2) How much would it cost to tint my windows, and which windows would be the best to tint?
3) What kind of spoiler should i add? I've been finding things like aluminum, fiber, etc
4) I want to change my stock lights to HID lights, is that a bad idea? If not, which kinds?
5) Body kits and rims/tires are optional and I know they are pricey
Thanks for your guy's help, I would appreciate any input.

1) depends on the kind of sound you want and the look. there's tanabe, greddy, hks, megan, tsudo, trd, etc. prices vary, but before buying go to youtube and check out how each one sounds and go with the one that you like the most.
2) depends on where you're located and the business in your area. if its legal, i would tint all the windows.
3) doesn't matter, they're all for looks. but remember, when installing a spoiler you'll need to drill holes into your trunk. so if you take off the spoiler you'll still have 2 holes in your trunk. i would say don't get any, because it does not in any way help the tc. doesn't help in handling/drifting/acceleration/whatever else. it is only for looks.
4) HID's are nice, i'm not too sure what brands there are but i know that the 10,000 HID's are pretty good.
5) yes, they are very expensive. they aren't necessary, but it all depends on your personal taste once again. there are many types but each look is different, so it's all based on what you think looks good. as for tires, it also depends on where you live and the conditions of the road at any given time.

1) Go with a reputable manufacture. Greddy, HKS, Magnaflow, Borla, there's a lot of aftermarket support for scions. Don't buy Ebay brand parts
2) It will run you anywhere between 90-120 dollars to get all your windows tinted, including the visor strip on the windshield. Get all of them tinted the same. Some states are very strict about tint laws. My tint on my tC was 5% and I never got bothered in FL.
3) I wouldn't recommend getting a spoiler; however, if you're dead set on it, most spoilers come in fiberglass or carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is light, expensive and FRAGILE. Fiberglass will bend, is more durable, and cheaper, but it's a little heavier.
4) That is a great idea. Make sure you get a quality kit. Just search on some scion forums for more info.
5) IMO the tC doesn't need a body kit. There's some nice lip kits out there that won't take away from the cars lines, but will still make it stand out more than stock. I can't say anything about rims. There are WAYYYYY to many manufactures with wayyyyy to many designs.
Tire's you should deff. look at BF-Goodrich G-Force TA/KDW's Best tires I've ever driven on when it's wet, and good grip on dry pavement also.

Since your car is still under warranty, I would stick with the TRD parts offered by Scion to keep your warranty valid. So the car looks great with the pedestal spoiler. The TRD muffler is great since it gives the car a pleasant sound, but it's not annoying like a coffee can muffler. I think that Toyota can tint your windows as well. I would also consider getting the TRD rear sway bar to get rid of some of that body roll as well. It was the best addition I've made to my car.
Here's what I've had added to my car so far:
Pedestal Spoiler
TRD Exhaust
Rear Sway Bar
Fog Lights
Short Throw Shifter
I'm not sure if there's much more that I need, but I don't race my car around, it's just a fun car to get from point a to point b.

don't add too much to the car, otherwise it will just look tacky.
i would get the windows tinted, it always makes the car look sleeker, but make sure you check the legal limits for your state cause otherwise if you get pulled over they will fine you big time.
mine cost around $300, but that was with a lifetime warranty and it was for all my windows, except my windshield (obviously).
if you get them tinted make sure you go to a chain store or a shop that can be trusted, otherwise you might get air bubbles, and discoloration which would look terrible.

Use toyota or Scion parts as they will less expensive and they use borla muffler on Scion, have body kitand spoiler, and lights.

i heard good things about the strut bars, and noticed a difference in just being a passenger. as far as the quick shifter it sounds great but haven't met anyone who invested all the money for it considering the standard shift isn't too bad.

Join some ricer forums and learn more about the subject. Don't just start tossing cash at it or you'll end up with a turd.
Then again, ricing up a car pretty much makes it a turd anyway..... Oh well.
