I'm in Atlanta and the dealers are few a far between. Maybe 4 or 5 in the whole metro and some of those look more like used car lots or they are coupled with other makes on the same site so Mitsus are barely represented. There's a new Mirage coming to the US market, a new Galant in the works, a new Endeavor, but with no real network how are they going to sell anything? Is the situation better in other parts of the US?

I've been offered a Non-HAMP loan modification that includes principal reduction. HAMP mods are apparently free of taxes to an extent, but what about Non-HAMP? If I can't afford the tax on the entire debt reduction this year, can I pay the tax liability over a few years beyond the tax year of the 1099-C I will probably get?

Seems like that's throwing around the miracle label a little too widely.

Religious affiliated people spread their beliefs because their book commands them to do so, therefore, they have a "reason" to be here.

If you are 100% comfortable in your beliefs or non-beliefs as an Atheist, why are you in this forum? Are you directed by some leader to spread your side?

Seriously just wondering what the motivation is. Many people feel most compelled to defend their position when they themselves question their own beliefs.

I'm not on either side of the religion fence, so no need to answer my question with an attack on what you assume to be my affiliation. Just an honest curiosity.

Just curious. Everyone else claims to have all the answers and my group just sits back convinced that none of you have any/all/some of them. Pretty funny, huh?

Why do some atheists exert so much energy putting out negativity about religion? Is part of being an atheist some sort of mission to trash religion and believers? As atheists, are you directed to populate religious discussion boards to disrupt conversation? Would this make atheism a sort of organized bizarro religion? If you organize on sites devoted to atheists, how much different is that than a religion and why is it "better"?

I can pay for a house in cash and still have cash left for 50% of the homes value. People are telling me to get a loan because rates are low. But closing costs would be several thousand dollars. The tax writeoff for interest doesn't make sense... why pay $10,000 in interest to save $3000 in taxes?

I might be able to earn a return greater than the mortgage rate, but that varies wildly and I will still have more cash to invest at higher returns. What am I missing?

Bounced checks, credit card debt, judgements, etc. Suddenly she went from an attractive girl to someone about as attractive as Andy Rooney. I just have a hard time being attracted to "dumb" and irresponsible. Should I try to see past that?

I've had a particular credit card since 1991. I have 3 that, combined, have limits that far exceed my annual income. Probably by double. The balances are zero, but the potential is there for ruin.

Should banks monitor how much credit they are giving out to people related to their income? Shouldn't they check household income every few years to make sure there still IS one to limit their exposure? Is it irresponsible lending to just pass out limit increases over the years and all they are really watching is a FICO now and then?

Gas peaked in my area back in the summer at $4 to $4.10 and the reason we were given by big oil was that the oil price per barrel was over $140 due to speculators or whatever. Oil per barrel has gone down 38% since that time.

Now that oil is around $90 and has been for a little while, I'm thinking gas should mathmatically be around 2.60 to 2.80 per gallon.

So, why is my local gas STILL sitting at $3.99????

I had my account suspended, obviously not this one, and I have no clue why.

Some people are just reporting in order to disrupt the board. Just like Craigslist.

So if Yahoo isn't going to really have true moderation, I think this section is on it's way down the drain.
