I have a spare computer for which worked great.I set it aside for 4-6 months and decided to hook it back up today to use.Well just to find that I get no signal for my monitor,so I tried another monitor and it still didn't come on.Both the monitors work and they were also hooked to my spare computer before I set it aside. Is there a way to test my video card before I go out and buy a new one.I tried taking it out and putting it back in in case of maybe alittle dusty with no positive results.

ok heres the deal, its not your video card, when you let your computer sit foe long periods of time unplugged there is a cmos battery that saves all the bios settings, when this battery dies most "modern" boards will just see it as a reset, but some older boards will be wiped clean, if this is so, your board is screwed unless you someone with some really expensive diagnostic tools, i've got about 10 boards that have been F****D because of this, if it were me, id scrap the mobo, and take out all the goods

I"m gonna answer the question, instead of reading the details. Because I gotta go somewhere.
So, if a video card is bad, often sometimes your monitor will flicker. Sometimes, the system fails to bootup. Beeps..
The screen rashes.
Sometime there are lines on the screen. Then you have to reboot. 10 minutes later, lines appear again.
That's a bad video card.

you get no signal sign because the card is not connected properly try pressing the video card abit down more and check if the locks are in their place (those plastic things at the sides) i get that sometimes when i open the case and do something clean it or whatever, your video card is not bad 100% sure on that.
