Do I have a bad ground to the motherboard or..?
My monitor isn't going on,here's the catch...I unplugged the 4 pin connector from the power supply to the motherboard and the monitor turned on..I tried to turn the computer off and had to unplug it for it to turn off. Then I plugged the computer back in and the monitor won't go on again, even when I try to unplug the 4 pin connector.
So I guess the off and on switch isn't working correctly either.
Would my trouble be the switch,or A BAD GROUND.
The computer does seem to be on,the HD is running..??
I find that hard to believe, the 4 pin connector is the original connector. All I did was change the hard drive and reformat, the comp worked great for a couple weeks then I unhooked it to use a different comp.6 months later here I am trying to get this one going again and all Im getting is trouble

You are playing with fire, literally. Unplug the power supply, find the bios jumper on the motherboard. Move the jumper to reset the bios. Move it back, plug it in and reboot. If you are lucky, it will boot. If you are unlucky, you zonked your cpu and will need a new processor, particularly if you unplugged the cpu {4 pin } while the pc was running. Removing the battery will not solve this.

Pull the bios battery for 1/2 hour.
Then boot with everything connected normal.

you have the wrong 4 pin connected to the motherboard
change it you will be happy you did
unless you're to late and you trashed the motherboard
